Elections Podcasts Top 5
Suggested listening: Throughout election day for updated episodes and the day after
The stressful presidential election season is almost over (kinda - Twitter thread on how long it is - click here). For this recommendation I am doing a hybrid of the top politics podcast list email. I searched 10 online publication lists and made a top 5 list with the most in common featured. Additionally, some of these podcasts will be doing some live shows November 3rd. Sources listed below.
Links go to the podcast homepage to learn more and you can search in your podcast player to listen.
Pod Save America (8 in common)
Slate’s Political Gabfest (8 in common)
Honorable mention: Georgia Public Radio’s Battleground: Ballot Box on Georgia’s election process. I’ve started listening and it’s quite interesting. Everything from voters to the actual digital voting system that has been having issues throughout the year within Georgia.
Remember to breathe.

Patton Oswalt on 10 Questions with Kyle Brandt
Suggested listening: Driving or walking
If you want a nice change of pace with your favorite celebs and athletes, here is a new podcast from The Ringer network, 10 Questions with Kyle Brandt. A hybrid trivia-and-interview show where athletes and celebrities compete to answer questions related to their lives and careers.
Ashley B. said, “I was drawn to the latest episode, since they promoted a segment around Oswalt recounting his time as a guest star on Seinfeld.
I just want to add it’s not all about Seinfeld(click for video clip) as Kyle keeps the discussion around the guest’s life.
Kanye on Joe Rogan Experience
Suggested listening: Working and in the background
Joe Rogan, one of the most popular comedian podcasters, finally recorded his chat with Kanye. It was previously delayed because one of Joe’s team members came down with COVID.
Now if you know Kanye, it’s what you expect. Joe barely did any of the talking and only asked clarifying “Why?” questions.
I am only recommending this episode because sometimes you need something in the background and don’t need to follow the story line of the conversation. There is no inherent educational value from this episode.
Hype Beast and Forbes Magazine wrote:
“While West is clearly doing all the talking in this special episode, Joe Rogan does a good job of asking questions that let viewers learn of a more personal side of ‘Ye that’s typically not represented in other one-on-ones — giving clarification on the artist’s ideologies and outspoken demeanor.” - Hype Beast
“That combination of confidence, ambition and emotional vulnerability will spark empathy in certain people, while others will dismiss the podcast as three hours of verbal diarrhea. I wouldn’t be surprised if West managed to build a Trump-esque personality cult during his next presidential run.” - Forbes
XOXO,
