Booked: In August, one of the biggest podcast conferences, Podcast Movement, is in Nashville this year. We are heading out there with my podcast friends from Choose Your Struggle and Salad with a Side of Fries. If y’all are vaxxed and in Nashville, August 3rd-6th, holler at ya boy.
Industry News: The New York Times is in talks to buy The Athletic to bolster their sports premium offerings. The Athletic has a sports podcast network under its belt. Read it here.

Podcast: Tulsa’s Buried Past

I only learned about the Tulsa Race Massacre in 2019 when reading about Juneteenth and other various Black American history stories. This Memorial Day weekend marks the 100th anniversary of the tragedy and it’s crazy to think that even Oklahomans didn’t really start learning about it until the 00s. ABC News released a 3 episode mini-series dives deeper into what we already know and new updates including the search for a mass grave.
I didn’t find a Critic review on this yet, but I did listen to all three episodes and it was worthy of my listening time. Timely, important, and honest.

AAPI (Asian American and Pacific Islander) month is wrapping up. We are featuring the 2021 Webby Winner for Best Lifestyle podcast. I remember SuChin Pak during MTV News days, so I was nostalgic when I was listening to this podcast. There are moments in the podcast that can feel like self-discovery to therapy among friends. Now I’m just waiting for that Jesse Camp podcast.

New Podcast Released: The Turning - The Sisters Who Left

Just released this week is a new podcast around Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity. An inside look from the women who left with their stories told in this well-produced story. For Great Pods, I was excited to see some Critic reviews published by the release date like a movie/tv industry. It’s one of our goals for the website and the industry.
