Hey Poddy People and Hi New Readers,
Thanks for joining us on this journey as we build something new for podcast discovery.
Can I tell you how crazy my Monday has been? It was wild. I haven’t had an action-packed day like this happen in a long time. Monday, we crushed our website growth goals by 1500%+ in one day. I wrote it all here in the newsletter, but the email version ended up being too long for your inbox. Instead, I put it in a blog post. You can read it all here.
40 Under 40: Congrats to my Poddy friends Jenn from Salad with a Side of Fries and Arielle from the EarBuds Podcast Collective for being named on Podcast Magazine’s 40 under 40’s list. See the list here.
Podcast to TV/Movie update: Rachel Maddow’s Bag Man Podcast is being turned into a movie. Ben Stiller is directing. More here.
Awards Update: The Peabody Awards nominees were announced. Quite a few podcasts were nominated. Read the list here.
Hollywood Update: Comedian Gilbert Gottfried passed away this week. He leaves behind a podcast that deep dives into mostly old Hollywood with a passion and Gilbert’s comedy crudeness. Listen here.
Website Update: We’ve got a BLOG link in the navigation header and BLOG page! It used to be hidden, but now we’re showing the world. Thanks Seb!
Blog Update: Speaking of more Blog updates, Ritu, our guest contributor, who attended Podcast Movement Evolutions with me a few weeks ago has written about her first experience and 5 Takeaways. Read it here!
Twitter Spaces Update: Coming this Monday, I’ll be going over the Weekly Top 5 Podcasts and chatting with How To Do The Pot host, Ellen Lee Scanlon. Set the reminder here.
Social Update:
On to my picks this week…
Podcast: Even The Rich
Genre: Society
Publisher: Wondery
About: They tell stories about some of the greatest family dynasties in history, from the Murdochs to the Royals to the Carters (Jay-Z and Beyoncé, that is).
Maybe it was the podcast, Normal Gossip, that turned me on to listen to Even The Rich. Instead of friends gossip, it’s famous people. I was interested in the the Rupert Murdoch episodes which are essentially about power, money, daddy issues. Mo Money, Mo Problems is a fact.
Mara Davis • Paste Magazine
“They cover famous and infamous families in a hilarious and well-researched way.”
Podcast: Tiny Leaps, Big Changes
Genre: Self-Improvement
Publisher: Gregg Clunis
Podcast conference buddy Gregg Clunis has been doing great on his Tik Tok / IG videos and I finally made my way to finally listening to his podcast. Yeah, I know, a great friend I am. At some, he’s challenged me to argue in my head with him, but at the end of the episode, he’s actually just reframing what I originally thought. I’m a fan of reframing. Episodes are under 20 minutes and you can catch them daily. I do enjoy Gregg’s calm & soothing voice.
Jocelyn Catano • The Odyssey Online
“a great refresher for morals or values that you have in your life. It's a great tool to use to reflect on yourself.”
💡 PodLight Recommendation:
Podcast: Goodniks
Genre: Society
Publisher: Annalisa Enrile, Jeff Leitner
Just released this week, a much-needed podcast on doing good.
About: Goodniks is an audio project exploring the journey and meaning of doing good in the world — for people who do good or are just thinking about it.
Another short and sweet podcast to take up.
Keelin • Mentally? A Magpie
“it's easy to listen to, short, and leaves you thinking about what good you can make in the world.”

Podcast: Spectre
Genre: Sci-Fi, Indie
