Industry News: SiriusXM/Stitcher making moves. Last week it was Quentin Tarantino recording a podcast, which was unofficially leaked. This week it’s married comedians Tom Segura and Christina P.’s comedy production, Your Mom’s House (YMH) signing a deal. Read that here.

Podcast Legal News: In today’s PodNews newsletter, they mentioned legal drama around the Fat Leonard (Navy bribery scandal) podcast tapes. I just added the podcast last week. Read the drama here. I may have to listen to that podcast now.

When this podcast caught my eye on Audio Drama Rama in November, I knew I had to listen for Xmas week. I literally binged this podcast in one day. Gym, grocery shopping, and home chores. It was wholesome and perfect for kids with each episode less than 20 minutes. It had all the Christmas jingling I could’ve wanted and the background score was pretty good that maybe they should’ve added 1-2 original songs. However, I was rewarded with an original song at the end.

With another long-running podcast, I went to the first and the latest episode on the feed to see what changed. With a few years gone by, it was cool to hear host Tiffany go from writing a book to now being a best-selling author! I took inspiration from one of their anecdotes. “You created a lane for yourself...step into that.” Damn straight.

Side note: In a similar podcast genre, I listened to ADweek’s pick for the podcast of the year, The Pay Check. What stood out for this latest season, was the host's first-person story on her family’s land rights and investigation with black generational wealth as a backdrop.
