There’s no sugarcoating it. I’m in south Florida for a family friend's passing. This was a tough one and he was my brother’s best friend. I was lucky enough to see him at the hospital one last time and unfortunately, like any heart attack, an untimely passing. So I dedicate this edition to him.
I am still here as I write this as an emotional release. The man was kind and made an impact in the Miami community since moving here over 10 years ago from California. I am thankful for this grief because I know I cared for this man in the decades I’ve known him. God rest his soul and give a lot of patience to his family.
So, this Thanksgiving week is even more meaningful with family and friends. That phone call I haven’t made in a long time, it’s happening.
