TBOY (The Best One Yet), the daily business news podcast I am an occasional listener of, has signed with Wondery. Watch/Listen to the announcement. I timestamped the video because I care. <3
By now we’ve heard about the WGA and AMPTP finally coming to an agreement. That means Strike Force Five will run its slate of 12 episodes and produce no more. John Oliver (Last Week Tonight) will be the first host to produce his show for this Sunday.
Read the statement here.
Like so many comments, we are waiting for Conan O’Brien to be a guest on the podcast and just start beautifully riffing with them that only Conan can do.
On to my picks this week…
Podcast: Moonrise
Genre: Science, History
Publisher: The Washington Post
About: “Truer, but also darker.” This is the real origin story behind America’s decision to go to the moon. The story we learn starts with Sputnik, then President Kennedy’s challenge, and ends with triumph: an American flag on the lunar surface. But in the 50 years that have passed since the moon landing, as presidential documents have been declassified and secret programs have been revealed, a wilder story has begun to emerge.
Who doesn’t like a good old declassification of government documents? An excellent podcast. As Keelin mentioned below, it’s the perspective for me, but also, President Kennedy wasn’t even interested in space initially. He just needed a PR win against Russia.
Keelin • Mentally? A Magpie
“…more perspective, more creativity, and more unclassified documents than we’ve seen. This is a gorgeous glide of audio documentary to listen to.”
This podcast was made in 2019 and is evergreen. All episodes out now.

WARNING: Potential polarizing position on the following recommendations. Skip ahead to the Just Added if you feel otherwise.
Podcast: New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce (Taylor’s Version)
Genre: Sports
Publisher: Wave Sports + Entertainment
About: Football’s funniest family duo — Jason Kelce from the Philadelphia Eagles and Travis Kelce from the Kansas City Chiefs — team up to provide next-level access to life in the league as it unfolds. The two brothers and Super Bowl champions drop weekly insights about their games and share unique perspectives on trending NFL news and sports headlines.
I got swept up in the madness that is Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. Absolutely no escape via entertainment mediums. I went through the many phases of cringe, excitement, laughter, and hot takes. If you don’t know about the NFL player Travis Kelce, you do now. If you didn’t see anything regarding Travis and Taylor, what’s your secret?
Regarding the podcast: Look, Jason and Travis are pretty good at this podcast thing. Great voices and are funny. A worthy listen for sports talk listeners in general. However, in this episode, the older brother Jason, 36 minutes into the episode, gets to the point. They both joke about the situation, what happened, responses from everyone, etc.
It’s just another perspective and you know I like different perspectives.
Jimmy Traina • Sports Illustrated
“The brothers don’t shy away from addressing what’s going on with their teams while also providing great levity. Jason Kelce’s laugh alone makes this podcast worth listening to.”
I timestamped where they chat about Taylor because I care.
Podcast: Comments By Celebs
Genre: Entertainment, Celebrity
Publisher: Cadence13, Comments by Celebs
About: From the viral Instagram account @CommentsByCelebs comes the much awaited Comments By Celebs Podcast. Emma Diamond & Julie Kramer, the creative minds behind the account and self-proclaimed celeb experts, talk all things pop culture. Having a hard time keeping up with your favorite stars? They’re here to keep you informed.
You heard about Travis and Taylor from one-half of the source. Now you get the perspective of a lot of women and how they feel about the situation. Emma and Julie go through various past events and the history of the two to get to this point. Long story short, this whole thing is kind of wholesome.
Do I have an opinion? Yes. Does it matter? No. But I’ll give it to you anyway. Travis and Taylor are going to get married. I called it here.
Nicole Pomarico • Cosmopolitan
“It's fun, it's witty, but most of all: it basically says what we're all thinking when a celeb does something so weirdly out of the ordinary.”
