It was a busy week adding new podcasts with reviews and my nephew’s graduation, so once again I have two picks…
On to my picks this week…
Podcast: Bitter/Sweet
Genre: Food, Personal
Publisher: Miller Libertine
About: Bitter/Sweet, is a podcast that explores the relationship between food and our deepest memories. In each episode guests share a profound moment in their lives, involving an evocative meal and share why it was so meaningful for them.
I met Natasha at The London Show and what came about from this unlikely pod-ship(podcast friendship) was that I had already added her podcast from a previous review. During this, I had the opportunity to interview her, which I will upload for the next newsletter.
The podcast: Simple. Clean. Natasha’s introduction story is descriptive to have me imagine I was there having a meal her mom created. I wish I had saltfish now. After listening to a few episodes it was the episode of Restauranteur Jeremy King, where his experience in France as a high schooler and being invited to eat with a family left me with enjoyment. Be in the moment.
“Can you remember?” “What were you feeling?” “Did it change you?” “How was it served?” I didn’t think with easy questions could someone respond with some articulate stories. It’s brilliant.

“...a vivid, eloquent, grief-inspired tale of unforgettable tastes”
Podcast: BEEF with Bridget Todd
Genre: History
Publisher: Next Chapter Podcasts
About: BEEF is an original scripted non-fiction storytelling podcast where Business Wars meets pop culture history.Award-winning host Bridget Todd tells the stories of legends in their fields and how they tried to stomp out their competition only to find that their enemies become the driving force behind their success, ultimately changing the world as we know it.
Another podcast with a simple premise. Much like Business Wars, Bridget Todd(There Are No Girls on the Internet) hosts this podcast about “beefs” or rivalries of the past. From people to businesses. The episode between James Brown vs Joe Tex which I didn’t know anything about, was a nice history of soul too. As a kid, I didn’t know there was a Jean-Claude Van Damme vs. Steven Seagal(lol) rivalry, but here we are. Bridget is bringing her full in-person and podcast energy to this historical narrative podcast.
